Biography

I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota during the age of black and white television, Life magazine photo documentaries, and the publication of The Family of Man. These early influences are clearly reflected in my approach to photography. My photographic journey began in 2004 when he graduated from the University of Washington Certificate Program in Photography. I was selected for the 2008 Artist Trust EDGE Professional Development Program and chosen for the 2010 Lucie Foundation E-pprentice Mentorship Program Award.

My photographs have been shown in eleven solo exhibitions, including the 2009 Lishui International Photo Festival in China, the Sixth Ménes-patak International Festival of Photography in Hungary, and the 2012 Fifth Annual International Artfoto Festival in Slovakia. They have also been included in over thirty-five juried group exhibitions throughout the country. I have won numerous awards, including First Place in the New York Photo Festival Capture Brooklyn exhibition and the 2011 B&W Magazine Portfolio Merit Award. My prints are in the Lishui Museum of Photography and several private collections.

I was featured in LensWork #97 (Nov-Dec 2011) with a ten-page interview discussing street photography with Brooks Jensen and a portfolio of twenty images from my Return to New York series. An additional video interview and more images are included in LensWork Extended #97. Ten prints from that series are now on display through March 2013 in the Northwest Viewing Drawers at the Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon.
